About me

Hello and welcome.

My name is Brian Berger. I am a licensed mental health counselor with 15 years of experience as a practicing therapist. I firmly believe all people have the power and the ability to heal themselves. I believe my clients know themselves best and thus within possess the tools needed to make dynamic life changes. My role as a counselor is to assist in this process by providing compassion, patience, non-judgment, and when needed, the appropriate push, direction, and insight that will guide you towards improving self-awareness and achieving your personal goals. I view therapy as a collaborative and sacred process that is built on the foundations of openness, trust, and safety.

I received my Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology from Rutgers University in 2004 and my Masters of Arts degree in Clinical Counseling from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 2007. I have worked in residential, out-patient, corrections, and acute-psychiatric settings with adults, children, adolescents, and families, dealing with issues including anxiety, depression, self-esteem/self-worth, trauma, grief and loss, addictions, intensive mental health, dual-diagnosis, and relationship issues/couples/family therapy. Some additional specialized populations I have served are juvenile offenders, developmental disabilities, human trafficking, LGBTQ, and HIV/chronic health issues.

For the past five years I have worked as the Clinical Director at two correctional treatment facilities, working with both male and female juvenile offenders ages 13-22.

I praise you for the courage and strength you are demonstrating by seeking help and I would be honored to assist you on this journey.

Brian has been very kind, patient and helpful to me. He genuinely cares about what I am going through and always makes time to respond as quickly as possible, and tries to work out a counselling time that best fits my schedule. In the short period of time I have been talking with him, I already feel so much better, and most importantly, understood. Thank you Brian for all your help.

Brian Berger is an excellent counselor. He is always offered timely advice and insight. He brought a lot of support and encouraged me to look inside of myself to find my answers. I was unsure about using this platform as I have always been a traditional face to face talk therapy person. This made it very convenient and easy. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for therapy and help.

Mr.Berger is an amazing therapist and a great person. I feel like I’ve grown so much thanks to our sessions. He is sincerely caring about his patients and I feel fully safe and supported with him. He listens carefully to what I’m saying and not saying and from there, he picks the things that really troubles me and we work on it together. I can never say enough about how wonderful my experience with him is but if you need a therapist...a great one, Mr.Berger is the one to go to...
