Hi, My name is Beth Donath-Tish. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for the State of New York. I received my Master's Degree from Fordham University during the year of 1990.
I have a variety of experiences working with teenagers and young adults. I have worked with teenagers whom resided in a group home. I provided supportive counseling services. As a Supervisor I have helped caseworkers provide services to teenagers whom resided in Foster Care. My most recent experience is working as a School Based Support Team Social Worker in a high school campus of 6 schools for the NYC Department of Social Services. I provide assessments for teenagers whom will be evaluated for Special Services, at risk counseling services/mandated counseling services, hold 504 meetings as well as Suspension meetings for students whom are suspended and receive special education services -IEP.
I would describe my counseling style as supportive and empathetic. I approach counseling through a client centered approach. I believe in meeting clients at the point where they feel most comfortable. Modalities I prefer to work with are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness Based Therapy and Psychotherapy. I also feel that I provide each individual with the utmost respect . I find importance in having a team approach where client/clinician come up with a plan that is best suitable for the individual.
I feel it is important as a good rule of thumb either a phone call or live meeting for at least our initial correspondence.

Beth is a great therapist, my son has really benefited from having therapy sessions with her. She is compassionate and very professional.
Beth has such a way that makes you feel comfortable to speak your truth. She is supportive and understanding while also holding you responsible for your own actions. I appreciate that. I don’t want someone who is going to agree all the time, I need someone to call me out when I’m wrong also. Otherwise I wouldn’t grow as a person. Thank you Beth.
This is my first time doing therapy and I was really nervous to get started. Beth has helped me and made me feel comfortable since our very first session. She challenges me but understands the pace I would like to work with. I appreciate her understanding.
Beth has been a lifesaver to me. She is kind, empathetic, knowledgeable, and has helped me navigate through some really tough times since I’ve been with her with hope and positivity.
Beth was wonderful, kind and knowledgeable. I enjoyed our sessions and she had great insights!
Beth is a patient listener and a focused counselor. I appreciate these qualities greatly in addition to her intelligence.
