About Me

My name is Ashleigh Freedland, and I am a licensed clinical professional counselor. I am from Northern, VA and have been living in Baltimore County, MD for 5 years now. My background includes working at a variety of locations, including: in-home services, mental health clinics, school based counseling, and an addiction treatment center. I have extensive training in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and person-centered therapy. I specialize in working with trauma, anxiety, PTSD, depression, and behavioral problems in children and teens. My therapy takes a person-centered, strength-based approach, focusing on improving awareness, problem solving skills, mindfulness, and implementing healthy coping skills.

I work to develop and maintain a collaborative relationship that will allow your child to feel heard. It will allow us to work together as a team through their therapeutic process. I believe that being genuine and authentic creates a positive therapeutic relationship that builds a trusting and safe environment with each person I work with. I believe that using sense of humor helps with engaging children and teens in their treatment process.

Ashleigh is amazing and I don’t plan on changing from her any time soon!

Ashleigh is absolutely incredible. I didn't have a lot of faith or high expectations in just talking to a therapist exclusively over chat, but she's been so helpful. Meeting on a weekly basis has helped me so much and I can't recommend Ashleigh more. She's great with responding and really takes the time to review your thoughts and notes to make sure she's prepared and understanding you.

Ashleigh has been an enormous comfort and source of support for me during a period of difficult struggles. She is kind, patient, and intuitive, and has always given me a safe space to explore my challenges and sit with my pain. I am incredibly grateful.

My child has not felt comfortable with talking to anyone before now. She loves Dr. Freedland. Dr. Freedland is personalable, and seems very knowledgeable and is easy to talk to.
