About me
Our youth today are challenged to manage intense peer relationships, family turmoil, grief and loss, and the influences of social media and pop culture. These stressors may inhibit their development and ability to maintain a healthy sense of self-worth, self-esteem, and motivation to thrive.
As a licensed independent clinical social worker in Massachusetts, I have an undergraduate degree in psychology and a Master's degree in Clinical Social Work. With over 10 years of experience, I have worked with both children and adolescents in a myriad of settings including their home environment, foster care, group homes, and juvenile detention. I have helped youth manage feelings related to trauma, depression, family and peer relationships, their school environment, and their personal safety. I have also counseled teens who engage in at-risk behavior including substance use and delinquency, and am particularly adept at connecting with youth who are reluctant to engage. I utilize techniques from motivational interviewing, solution-focused treatment, and interpersonal therapy to empower my client to identify their goals. Involving family members can often assist in this process. Throughout our work together, you can decide to be an active participant in cultivating your child's goals and monitoring their progress. At every step, I will listen and offer support.
Let's join together to help your child thrive. Contact me today so that we may begin this important work.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Annemarie Bello. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with Teen Counseling might be different.
Annemarie is easy to talk to and cuts to the chase very quickly. She offers great ideas and suggestions, and can make the conversation feel more fun than it would be otherwise!
She is a great therapist. Annmarie is one of the best therapists I’ve ever had
Annemarie will tell you how it is! She offers a variety of ways to help you. She is extremely knowledgeable and can see past the words you say. I highly recommend her! She lets you lead and she is here to guide. I’m lucky to have gotten her as my therapist!
Love her! I recommend therapy to all my friends.
Annemarie is a great listener. For someone who gets general anxiety especially meeting new people, her relaxed demeanor and warmth was really helpful and inviting. Looking forward to more sessions!
This was my first experience with therapy and I entered into it with some anxiety, unsure of what to expect. I appreciated Annemarie's approach to therapy. She treated me like an equal participant, validated my experiences, and made me feel like I had the answers within myself; I learned to trust my inner voice more. She provided support and guidance as we worked through some difficult topics, and I left every session feeling hopeful. She gave me some very useful strategies that I have been able to utilize daily and I would highly recommend her to anyone.
We've been working with Annmarie for a couple of months for my 16 year old son. She is extremely invested and her availability and dedication to her and my son's private sessions is so impressive. She maintains my son's privacy while also helping to guide me as his mother to a healthier life. I couldn't be happier with her services.
She has been very responsive and I have been difficult with my schedule. She always asks about me even if I can’t get right back with answers
