About Me

Raising children in this day and age can present many challenges for families. After raising three children on my own those difficulties are very familiar to me. Hello! My name is Angela M. Farmer and I am an LPC from Oklahoma. My life experiences allow me to connect with a lot of backgrounds. In my early years I struggled with family mental health issues. I then became a non- traditional student at the age of 28. At age 45 I decided to go back to school once again to get my masters in psychology/counseling and here I am today. Change can be scary and cause lots of anxiety. Sometimes just being heard without bias can be so empowering. I have worked with men, women, and children from the ages of 4-70. I have worked with traditional, non-traditional, and blended families as well. Depression, anxiety, behavioral problems, and anger are just a few of the issues that I have helped children to address. I have worked with children that have been neglected, have abandonment issues, attachment issues, and that do self harm. One counseling style that I utilize is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and understanding how thoughts and beliefs can lead to unwelcomed behaviors and feelings. I also utilize client centered therapy and solution-focused as well. Sometimes all it takes is one step to create a new journey and I am ready to take that initial step with you.

Angela is great. Just within 3 sessions, my daughter felt so good! She feels that she is heard and deeply supported by Angela and looks forward to her sessions eagerly. Angela is very patient and guides her step by step and it has been a wonderful experience so far!.

Angela is very safe...that safety allows me to explore my issues. She is supportive but not intrusive. She is wise and humble and subtly effective.

Angela is easy to talk to and has a great way about her. I feel comfortable and I feel like she understands many of my primary issues. I would recommend her to anyone who feels like they need a friend to talk to and run ideas and experiences by. She’s very good at following up where one left off the previous few sessions checking-in.

Angela is friendly, compassionate, relatable and has a great sense of humor. She listens to hear you, responds in ways that make you feel heard and valued, and she's not afraid to push you past your growing edge. I appreciate her approach and feel very comfortable sharing both my triumphs and personal struggles with her.
