Andrew Benson

About Me

First, I would like to applaud you for reaching out for support; many times that is the most difficult step.

My name is Andrew and I have over 10 years working as a behavioral health professional. I enjoy helping other people with their challenges, and I really believe that most therapeutic successes begin with a strong and well-fitting therapeutic relationship. Most of my experience has been with young adults, children, parents, and families. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, family/relationship issues, parenting challenges, and trauma.

I want you to know that I am here for you, and will do my best to support you at this difficult time. My aim is to work with you at a pace that you prefer, but there may be occasions when I will encourage you to push just a little bit beyond your comfort zone, in an effort to support you in reaching your goals. Being challenged may feel stressful at times- that’s to be expected. However, I believe that because you have taken the step to initiate this process and reach out for support, you have already demonstrated the bravery and courage that is needed to work through this difficult time.

I am looking forward to meeting with you. Again, I am here for you and I appreciate the opportunity and privilege to hear from you and work with you.

Its hard enough being a teen. Trans tees have it at another level. Coming out, to pass or not to pass, how to talk to family & friends how to access medical support which bathroom to use - these complex and challenging questions trans teens face require solid support from a skilled, professional adult. Being new to the trans world, many of these issues were beyond our ability as parents to understand and support, and we knew we had our own process to go through as well. Counseling with Andrew for our teen has been critical for our child's healthful transition. We are grateful for his services and highly recommend his counseling to others.

I’ve recommended to like 5+ people already, wondering if there is a credit for that! I love this, I’ve always wanted therapy, and this is so convenient. Thanks Andrew!
