Hello! I am Amy Blazek, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Certified Advanced Grief Counseling Specialist (CAGCS), and Certified School Counselor, with over 25 years experience in the counseling field. My undergraduate degree is in Psychology and my graduate degree is a Masters in Education and Counseling, in 2000. As a School Counselor and licensed therapist, I have worked with many children, teens, adults, couples, small groups and families, with a wide range of issues, including changing families, divorce, coping skills, loss, anxiety, depression, ADHD, LGBTQ and parenting/relationship issues. In addition to working in schools and private practice, I spent time interning at Sheppard Pratt Psychiatric Hospital Day School, working at Job Corps with teens/young adults, and facilitating divorce groups in the family courts. I utilize many approaches to counseling, depending on the individual and situation, especially CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy), Client Centered Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy.
On a personal note, I have been with my husband for 23 years and we have three children (14 year old boy and girl twins and a 16 year old daughter). Our younger daughter has Epilepsy and severe Autism, ADHD and Intellectual Disability, so I have a lot of experience with special needs families and caregiving fatigue. Raising our three kids has significantly helped me in my professional role as a therapist (and vice versa). I can help anyone who needs support, understanding and compassion, and be there to listen and help you and your family navigate through life's many challenges.

The whole process of therapy and navigating my insurance and medical system has been very difficult. But Amy has been incredibly supportive and given me a lot of grace through everything. I honestly just wish I had started therapy sooner.

As you know, it is hard to find someone who you mesh with when seeking therapy. Amy is so chill and down to earth. More importantly, she actually listens and gives great tips and strategies to help with my anxiety. She responds quickly to text messages and has varies times of availability which makes it easy to book sessions.
She is well to communicate mutual understanding of communication. Her understanding of communication between us is highly strong and healthy! She is individually and collectively objective to communicate and help both of us!
Online counseling had me initially nervous, but Amy has been great. She's been incredibly easy to talk to, very easy to connect with, and she has a really great grasp and approach to get to the bottom of things. I've already advocated for both her and teencounseling.com based on my experience with her so far, and I feel confident in working out our issues together.
She is very kind and understanding
Professional and knowledgeable. Down to earth.
