About Me
Hello, my name is Amber. I have over 15 years experience working in mental health and recovery services. I have been a Marriage and Family Therapist for 9 years. I attended Southern Nazarene University for both my Undergraduate and Graduate degrees. I graduated Cum Laude. Most recently, I have worked in a transitional living program for women and children experiencing homelessness as the Clinical Director. I worked in a domestic violence shelter which gave me a wealth of experience and the knowledge that I wanted to work with people who have survived domestic abuse. I have worked in state government for the state mental health and substance abuse agency.
I have worked with a variety of individuals from diverse backgrounds. My youngest client was 4 years old and my oldest almost 90. I have extensive experience working with survivors of interpersonal violence, domestic violence, and sexual assault. I use a Trauma Informed approach and will treat you with unconditional positive regard. I am very direct yet compassionate. I am interactive and warm. We just need a space to talk. Sometimes, we just need to be heard. My goal is to provide a safe space for that. I will always be honest with you. I believe you have the answers inside of you. I am just the tool to help you synthesize your thoughts. I hope to help make sense of your experiences while validating and encouraging you. My greatest joy is watching the wheels click. I know that recovery is a reality for all.

Amber has been a great help in understanding and working with my teen’s depression and her specific needs. I highly recommend her; her counseling is quickly becoming and invaluable resource for our family.
Amber is kind, empathetic, and incredibly knowledgeable about her craft. I would recommend her for anyone struggling, especially during these uncertain times.
Amber I think is the first therapist to really make me feel understood. I also feel like she takes in my writing and address the most important parts, and asks the right questions. I think I'm finally on the right track.
She knows exactly when to listen and when to speak up and give advice. Very encouraging!
Just in the short time I have been speaking with her, she has given me multiple tools to make it through my issues. She was confident, calm, and receptive of my thoughts, feelings and actions. I would highly recommend her due to the fact that she doesn't treat me like a patient. I'm treated as a friend and I can trust her with my inner thoughts. 10 out of 10
Amber is compassionate and gives recommendations for great supplemental resources and activities that have helped me a lot!
