Hello! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida with over 15 years of experience helping teens and families cope with difficulties including anxiety, depression, trauma, school challenges, ADHD, and parent/child conflict. I have a variety of professional experiences that contribute to the development of my empathy, understanding, and relatability to teens and families. I began my career working with teens who had a family member murdered. Since then I have worked with a variety of teens who experienced trauma including teens with sexual and physical abuse histories. Also, I have worked with dozens of teens struggling with ADHD and other learning concerns. I have been helpful in assisting them in finding ways to be more successful at school and at home. Additionally, for several years I have worked with teens and families involved in the child welfare system. I understand the stresses of the teen and parent relationship. I am deeply invested in helping parents and teens develop better relationships for happier families.
Starting counseling can be very “nerve-racking.” I will try to make it as comfortable as possible. My counseling style is warm, patient, and client-centered. I encourage my clients to develop their own goals and area of focus, but I am always there to help guide them. Also, I am very logical and insight oriented. My clients often comment that I have helped them develop new understandings and perspectives. Finally, I work hard to be culturally competent. I have lived and traveled all over the world; therefore I am very open to understanding and accepting others. If you are ready to begin a journey of healing and empowerment, I am here to help you!!
I look forward to hearing from you soon!!

I have never been or gone to therapy before, and after going through a traumatic event in my life I sought to counseling. Amber has been amazing, and helped me through so much. I am so thankful to have downloaded teen counseling and have amber be my therapist. She is the best, and I can see that she looks out for my well being.

Amber has been so helpful in my healing and growth journey; she has given me new tools to work through immediate concerns, as well as long term solutions to work towards. I feel comfortable bringing up concerns with her, and know I will get an honest and helpful answer. Amber is supportive, and lets me speak freely about the experiences I’ve had without any judgement. We have also looked through worksheets together to help me have a better understanding of my mental health. I look forward to our sessions together!

We’ve only met for a couple sessions but she’s been very open about working with me and finding a method that works for me. Looking forward to seeing what ongoing sessions will brjng
Amber is really great. She's straightforward and works to understand what I'm going through then comes up with very helpful exercises to help me learn how to work through things.
Amber was awesome and easy to talk to. She asked the right questions and prompted me to address certain issues that I wouldn’t normally talk about. Addressing those issues certainly helped reduce my anxiety and my low mood. At the end of one month I was feeling much better, energetic and motivated
Very helpful and friendly :)
Amber Smith is very attentive and listen to concerns very well. She makes us both feel accepted and not judged. Highly recommend Amber Smith.
