Welcome! My name is Aimee and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas with 7 years of experience across three different states. For many years, I have worked with individuals and families within a hospital setting. Prior to this, I worked in outpatient settings with children, teens, adults, and geriatric clients. I currently direct an Intensive Outpatient Program. I have helped an array of clients throughout my years in the field. Specifically, I have experience with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenic disorders, autism spectrum disorders, trauma, suicidal ideation, self-injury, Borderline Personality Disorder, and substance use disorders.
I put emphasis on you being your own expert, but make it known that you are not alone and that I am your expert guide through the process of recovering, healing, and creating change in your life. I use a variety of techniques, include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Additionally, I practice from a trauma-informed perspective and have been trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
I believe your story is one that needs to be heard and I believe that each aspect of your life in which you seek change deserves my undivided attention. I will encourage and challenge you, while also meeting you where you are.
When working with adolescents, I think it is especially important to build relationships within the family. I encourage family involvement and strengthening, while also making sure to maintain focus on the teen seeking help.

My daughter tells me that Aimee Herzog has really helped her. She feels that she understands her and provides ways for her to cope. She has been very helpful.
I’ve only been working with Aimee for a few weeks, but I feel so much better already. She’s very knowledgeable and patient, and listens to my concerns and how I work as a person, and meets me halfway. It’s wonderful to be able to have someone I can always trust and turn to, no matter how hard life gets.
