About Me

I have a Masters of Social Work from New York University. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectal Behavioral Therapy and Family Counseling. I specialize in trauma and grief treating symptoms of Depression, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and Anxiety. I worked extensively with families with children and adolescents in shelters throughout New York City who are survivors of violence. As a mental health provider at a primary school, I worked with children to address concerns with family, anger, self-esteem, challenges related to the pandemic and concentration. Working within such a large and complex systems guided my work in creating a holistic approach whereby I look at all the elements that shape their experience of the world. I am passionate about helping them explore the wonderful complexities of identity, culture, family, gender and race.

My approach in treatment is to work collaboratively; inviting you and your child to examine your concerns and experiences without judgement, identify and expand on your treatment goals and reviewing progress. In a safe and empathetic space, we can reignite the many strengths they possess for wellness to counter barriers. I use a mixture of talk therapy, assignments and mindfulness techniques to help cultivate healthy coping skills to work through challenges to live with more wholeness and ease. My purpose is to help them feel grounded and rediscover a sense of belonging and self-acceptance.

Aïcha is kind, approachable, and extremely compassionate. She has a variety of tools and tricks to help me believe the best about situations and myself. She notices and guides me away from repeating negative patterns of behavior. She’s there when I need her and I appreciate her greatly!

Aïcha is the best therapist I have ever had

Out of all the therapists I’ve had, I can surely say that Aïcha has been the most understand, empathetic and beyond amazing one of them all. She takes the time to really understand everything, asks amazing questions and really gets to the bottom of the concerns. I would recommend her to everyone if I could.

In a few weeks Aïcha has helped me make more progress than I did in months with other therapists and working with her has made me so glad that I gave therapy another shot after mixed experiences in the past.

I had my first session and it was amazing how she was able to pin point my feelings. She really listens and am looking forward to our second session today!
